Ear Infection

Nate has his first ear infection (I hope the only one, but let's be realistic). We went to the doctor today for a cough that he's had for several days and found out he has an ear infection. Thankfully we caught the ear infection early. As for the cough, the doctor said his lungs sounded great. I have two friends with babies that have had bronchiolitis, so I am very thankful he didn't have that or any other respiratory problem.

Spring Fever

We've had such a great time the last few days spending time outside enjoying the warm weather. I try not to say I can't wait for this or that, but I honestly can't wait for warm weather - consistent warm weather. Nate loves being outside and I know we are going to have a lot of fun playing outside. Yesterday we took advantage of the warm weather and had a photo shoot. The overalls he has on were Darren's. They were a little bigger than I thought, so I'll probably take some more pictures in a few months when they actually fit. It's obvious to everyone that Nate looks exactly like his daddy, but I think he looks a tiny bit like some of my baby pictures in the last picture.

Bath Time

Tonight Nate had his first bath in the "big boy" tub. He loved it!

An Eventful Week

We had such a busy week last week and that is definitely not the norm for us. Monday night I had dinner with Charity. We also stopped by Target. We spent about an hour looking at sunglasses, headbands, watches, purses, and all of the fun $1.00 items. We had a blast at Target - that should tell you that I don't get out much. Tuesday Haley and I took the boys to visit Shana and her three daughters. We had such a great time. We left around 8:30 and didn't get home until almost 4:00. All of the kids were great even though it was a long day. Wednesday and Thursday were pretty uneventful. Friday Nate and I went shopping and to lunch with Dee and Faith. That was another really fun day. Finally, on Saturday Allison and I went to the movies. We saw 27 Dresses. It was really cute, a great happily ever after movie.

Here are a couple of pictures from the week. The first one is of Nate in the walker that Nan and Pops(my parents) bought for him at a yard sale. Yes, he is under the table. Our house is not very walker friendly, so the walker has gone back to Nan and Pop's where there is more space. The other one is of Nate and Allison.

First Wagon Ride

This afternoon I took advantage of the warm weather and took Nate on his first wagon ride. The wagon has two seats so I decided that Emmy should go along also. There was room for Oscar, but he and Emmy do not behave well together. They remind me of students I used to teach who would feed off of each other's bad behavior.

Nate is 7 Months Old

Technically he will be 7 months tomorrow at 2:29 p.m. I haven't posted in over a week and there honestly hasn't been a lot going on. Nate is growing like a champ and sitting alone like a pro, but he isn't making any efforts to crawl yet. He doesn't like being on his stomach, so as soon as I put him on his stomach he rolls over. He has two teeth now. Thankfully, his second one didn't seem to be as painful as the first. He is still gagging when I try to feed him green vegetables. We tried green beans and got the same reaction we did with the peas. I did have the camera ready this time. It finally occurred to me to just mix some in with his other vegetables. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier. A friend also suggested dipping a spoonful of peas/green beans in another vegetable. That works pretty well, but I think we have a ways to go before he eats anything green without some kind of disguise. For the past few days he has been fascinated with his tongue. He has been turning it over and rubbing it against his teeth. This morning he started sticking his tongue out. He kept doing it over and over again. I was beginning to wonder if he was going to do this all day.


I have been wanting to get outside and get some pictures and we were able to get a few today, but it was really too windy to stay out too long.
